More ways to stay in touch

Let them hear your voice

Send voice messages using the built-in speaker and microphone, or through the Garmin Messenger™ app on your paired compatible smartphone, even without mobile coverage.¹ Received voice messages can also be read as transcriptions on the colour display.

Say more with every message

Type longer messages directly on the touchscreen keyboard. For a familiar phone-based experience, pair your compatible smartphone with the Garmin Messenger app to exchange texts, add emojis and reactions, or bring everyone into a group chat.¹

Send a view from out there

Share photos from your trip through the Garmin Messenger app on your paired compatible smartphone.^1,2 Photos sent back to you can be viewed directly on the device’s colour screen.

Reach out in an emergency

If you need help, send an interactive SOS with your GPS coordinates to Garmin Response, Garmin’s international coordination centre.¹ Messages travel through the global Iridium satellite network rather than relying on mobile phone towers.

Let friends and family follow along

With an active inReach satellite subscription, LiveTrack™ sharing lets people at home follow your location as you travel. Your web-based LiveTrack page shows your progress, including distance, time and elevation. There’s no need to point the device directly at the sky to find satellites.

Plan ahead and follow your route

Pair with the Garmin Explore smartphone app to plan your trip, follow your course to your destination and find your way back.
